Hello, I’m Lane.
I write about desire, longing, and the parts of ourselves we don’t always know what to do with. That’s really where my interest in romance begins. Not with perfect people, perfect relationships, or polished declarations of love. I’m more interested in the moments that feel a little harder to explain: the person you can’t stop thinking about, the memory that comes back years later, the attraction that arrives at the wrong time.
People carry more private life inside than they ever show, but the personal fantasies that we all harbor say more about us than we ever expeccted. That private life is where many of my stories begin.
My work tends to be sensual, but I don’t want it to be empty. I want the heat to reveal something. A need. A fear. A regret. A hunger. A part of someone that has been quiet for too long.
To me, romance is not about pretending life is simple, but about what happens when life is complicated yet desire still finds its way in. I write for readers who believe there is more beneath the surface ~ more longing, more heat, more courage. That's where there's more life.
The Knight Of Romance is my debut collection of sultry romantic stories, and in many ways, became the place where I started exploring those questions more honestly. What do we want, but hide? What happens when a fantasy stops feeling harmless, or when someone stumbles through their internal permissions...allowing themselves to want more?
Outside the page, I’m drawn to places that feel like they already have stories inside them: old hotels, quiet libraries, city streets at night, European cafés, weathered houses...the kind of spaces where something could happen if the right two people arrived at the same time.
I believe romance is still all around us. Not always in grand gestures. Sometimes it’s in a look, a pause, a voice that changes slightly, or a door left open longer than necessary. That is where I tend to find my stories.
